horizontalloops width=

Horizontal Loops are used where adequate land is available. One or more trenches are dug using a backhoe or chain trencher. Pipes are inserted and the trenches are backfilled.

vertical loops width=

Vertical Loops are installed where space is limited. Holes are bored using a drilling rig, the pipe is inserted, and the holes are filled. The pipes are connected horizontally a few feet below the surface.

pond loops

Pond Loops can be installed if an adequately sized body of water is
located close to the home.
A series of coils are sunk to the bottom, connected by a header with supply and return pipes leading to the home.

open loops width=

Open Loops are used where there is an abundant supply of quality well water. The well must have enough capacity to provide adequate flow for both domestic use and the WaterFurnace unit.

In The Loop: WaterFurnace Answers

WaterFumace geothermal systems are extremely efficient systems designed to use the energy found beneath the earth’s surface. Geothermal units combine this stored energy with safe electric power to deliver homeowners heating, cooling and hot water savings up to 60 percent. Here are some frequently asked questions and answers.

Q. How does a WaterFurnace system work?

Proof In Performance:Water Furnace Wins

Extracting energy from the ground to heat and cool homes efficiently might be hard to imagine for those who have relied on ordinary fossil fuel furnaces and central air conditioners. But the facts and figures show a WaterFurnace geothermal system, particularly the E Series, clearly outperforms ordinary systems.

Are You Still Wasting Money?

If you were given the choice of wasting money or saving money, which would you choose?
Sound crazy? Not really when you consider the differences between a WaterFurnace geothermal system and ordinary heating and cooling systems.

Because a WaterFurnace system tends to have a higher installation cost than most ordinary systems, some homeowners view it as expensive. But this is only half of the picture.
As a homeowner, consider more than the initial investment when purchasing a new system:
consider also the monthly energy charges and the annual maintenance costs. You’ll find that a fossil fuel furnace will cause you to bum money rather than to save it, and an ordinary air conditioner will cause you to waste energy rather than to conserve it.

Earth Loops Deliver Savings,Comfort and Performance

The earth loop is the heart of a WaterFurnace geothermal system. This earth looptransfers heat to or from the ground, and it’s the single largest advantage over ordinary heating and cooling technology.
Earth loops come in two basic types: closed and open. Closed loops, made of durable,high-density polyethylene pipe, are buried in the earth or submerged in a lake or pond. They transfer heat by circulating a solution of water and environmentally safe antifreeze through the system. Open loops use ground water pumped from a well as a heat source. The decision on which loop configuration to use depends on the ten-ain, the cost of trenching or drilling, the availability of quality ground water and the availability of land. Your independent WaterFurnace dealer will help you make the most efficient and economical choice.
